Ashlyn Hall

At UNCG, she has taught Contemporary Praxis I/II, Jazz Dance: From the Street to the Stage, Introduction to Dance, Ballet for Musical Theatre, Jazz for Musical Theatre, and Pilates. She was previously an adjunct faculty member at her alma mater, Belmont University, where she worked closely with students to develop their ballet, jazz, and modern technique and also choreographed and re-staged repertory for the dance company (Dir. Debbie Belue).

Ashlyn has cultivated her teaching practice in diverse settings, adapting ballets for family audiences at a non-profit dance school, teaching cross-disciplinary lessons within public and private school dance programs, and choreographing musicals (recently, Side Show and Sweeney Todd, both directed by Tug Watson at UNCG). She has performed at festivals including Nashville Fringe, Chattanooga Fringe, Kindling Arts, and Nashville Ballet’s Emergence.

Her current research centers dance-making methodologies that encourage participants and audiences to respond to the emotional and physical realities of climate change.
